Welcome to Deacon & Deaconess Ministry!

“Serving with Reverence, Supporting with Love”

The Deacon and Deaconess Ministry at Guilgal-SDA Church is grounded in spiritual service and humble leadership. This ministry is responsible for maintaining the sacredness of our worship spaces, assisting during ordinances like communion and baptism, supporting members in times of need, and fostering a spirit of order and hospitality during church services. Their work is often behind the scenes but is essential to the spiritual and physical care of the church body.

The goal of this ministry is to uphold the dignity of worship and promote unity through faithful service. Its objectives include preparing the sanctuary for services, visiting the sick, aiding with church ordinances, welcoming guests, and supporting the pastoral and leadership teams in carrying out the church’s mission. Deacons and Deaconesses lead by example, modeling reverence, compassion, and readiness to serve.

This ministry is rooted in 1 Timothy 3:13“Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.” At Guilgal, our Deacons and Deaconesses are honored to serve the body of Christ with excellence and grace. We believe in caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Through healthful living and spiritual growth, we honor the body as God’s temple and seek abundant life in Him.

What to expect

Visiting for the first time? Here’s everything you need to know…from what to bring and how to dress to what our worship experience feels like. We want you to feel right at home.

We recommend bringing a Bible (digital or print), a notebook if you’d like to take notes, and a heart ready to worship and connect. If you’re coming with children, feel free to bring anything that keeps them comfortable during service. We also provide visitor cards for prayer requests or questions.

Come as you are! Many of our members wear modest, semi-formal attire for Sabbath worship—dresses or skirts for women, and dress shirts or suits for men—but casual and neat clothing is perfectly welcome. What matters most is your presence, not your outfit.

Giving is completely voluntary. If you’d like to support the church, we accept tithes and offerings during service or online. No pressure—your presence is the greatest gift.

Sabbath School begins at 9:15 AM, and the main French worship service typically starts at 11:00 AM. We encourage arriving 10–15 minutes early to find seating and settle in. The English worship service starts at 12:15 PM

Children and youth are encouraged to dress modestly and comfortably. For youth programs or special events, we may suggest specific attire—but we always prioritize making every young person feel welcomed and loved.

Warm, vibrant, and spirit-filled. Expect heartfelt worship, uplifting music, meaningful teaching, and a friendly, multicultural church family ready to welcome you with open arms.
